Watching a stand and deliver sales presentation last week, I was very bored.

I’m thinking, this is a good thing, I should do this more often. It connects me to how our students feel when they are cut off from their technology and have to listen to a teacher deliver 40 minutes of lecture.

I just wanted to get my hands on the product the rep was selling so I could play with it. I knew I couldn’t understand it until I’d played around with it for a while.

I’m sure this is how our students feel. I did not warm to the rep, until he said that the use of the product he was selling depended on the teachers creativity.

I’m thinking “Well that’s harsh..but true.”

Creativity is February Experimonth topic, I am going out today to buy “The Element” by Sir Ken Robinson so I will immerse myself in that for inspiration.

I’d like to kick it off with this video from Japan. It sets the stage for the book. Are we missing the element in students, because we are not seeing it from the right vantage point?
