Kids fighting over the computer?
If your kids are fighting over computer time, or perhaps as a parent you are frustrated because your kids have taken over the computer, then I can recommend an affordable solution.
I have used an Xtenda kit by nComputing. It is easy to install. Just pop the PCI like card into a free card slot on your desktop computer. Then use the network cables and junction box (you get a set of 3, but I am only using one at home right now) to attach another monitor, keyboard and mouse. What happens when you reboot is that the desktop shares itself out and another user gets to use part of the processor power. Instantly you have another workstation and the fighting might even stop.
I have not noticed any lag in speed. I got one at Christmas, my son plays World of Warcraft, which is heavy on the graphics, while my daughter is on the Xtenda workstation and browses the internet quite happily, sometimes practices her typing. The network cable runs through the wall, so they are in different rooms. It was an affordable solution for us.
